John
Cocuzza- Supervisor of Guidance and Reading
Mr. John Cocuzza was an Industrial Arts teacher for ten years prior to moving
into the Guidance Department in 1996. He has been at Oakcrest High School
for the past 21 years. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree at The College
of New Jersey and his Masters Degree in Student Personnel Services at Rowan
University. Mr. Cocuzza also served as a baseball coach for 12 years while
at Oakcrest and also advised the Peer Mediation Program. In 1993 he was recognized
as Oakcrest High School’s “Teacher of the Year”. Mr. Cocuzza
served as project manager for our district’s K-12 Guidance curriculum
which is currently recognized as a model program in the State of New Jersey.
He is very proud of the OHS guidance staff for their New Jersey Department
of Education’s 2006 Best Practice recognition. He enjoys the student
body, faculty, and supportive school community that can be found at Oakcrest
High School. He is a big New York Mets and Jets fan, enjoys coaching youth
league baseball in his community as well as spending time with his wife Kathi
and son Anthony. |

Mary
Alvarado- Guidance Counselor
Mrs. Alvarado is a graduate of Villanova University with a Masters Degree
in Human Relations and Counseling. She earned her undergraduate degree at
Rowan University in Spanish and Business. Mrs. Alvarado is also a graduate
of Oakcrest High School. Mrs. Alvarado was a Spanish Teacher at the Egg Harbor
Township Middle and Elementary School, she also was a Middle School counselor
at the Northfield Community School. Prior to her teaching career, Mrs. Alvarado
spent eighteen years in the casino industry. Mrs. Alvarado is very involved
in her church, enjoys working
with students and is an avid jogger. |

Donna
Brosh-
Guidance Counselor
Mrs. Brosh holds a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics and secondary education
from Rowan University. She also played basketball at Rowan and served as
a Resident Assistant (RA). Mrs. Brosh taught mathematics at Millville Senior
High School for ten years. While at MSHS she served as the girls’head
basketball and soccer coach. Her Thunderbolts soccer team won the conference
and league championships in 2005 and earned Brosh “Coach of the Year”and “Team
of the Year”honors. In 2005 Mrs. Brosh completed her master’s
degree in school counseling at Wilmington College in Delaware Mrs. Brosh
is honored to be a part of the Oakcrest family and enjoys assisting each
student grow as an individual on personal/social, academic, and vocational
levels. In her free time, she enjoys playing sports and loves to watch college
basketball. However, her favorite pastime is traveling and spending time
with her awesome son, Drew, and supportive husband, Mike. |

Karen
Cavalieri-
Guidance Counselor
Mrs. Karen Cavalieri began her career in education in 1998 at the Ventnor
Middle School where she taught various grades and subjects. For the past
four years she was the eighth grade social studies teacher. She enjoyed coaching
basketball and softball and advised both student council and the yearbook
committee while in Ventnor. She graduated from Rowan University in 1996 with
a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology after playing basketball for the
Lady Profs. Mrs. Cavalieri completed her Master’s Degree in Student
Personnel Services at Rowan University in 2006 and is very excited to begin
her counseling career here at Oakcrest. She looks forward to working with
high school students. Mrs. Cavalieri is a huge sports fan, loves to cook
and read, and spends most of her free time outdoors with her husband and
two sons, Dino and Domenic. |

Janine
Jones-
Guidance Counselor
Ms. Janine Jones is a graduate of Rowan University with a Masters Degree
in Student Personnel Services/Counseling in Educational Settings. She earned
her Bachelors Degree at Rowan University in Communications (Radio/Television
and Film). Before she began her career as a counselor at Oakcrest High School
in 2007, Ms. Jones spent 5 years in the entertainment industry working on
tv/movie productions and serving as Director of New Talent Development for
a casting agency before she pursued her career in education. Ms. Jones taught
SAT/College Prep and Communications (Mass Media) at Camden Catholic High
School in Cherry Hill, NJ and also coached the Girls Track Team. Ms. Jones
is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and is devoted member of
her church. She is very active in her community and loves working with students
in helping them achieve their goals. |

Lisa Piechoski- Guidance Counselor
Ms. Lisa Piechoski has four years of experience in education and has recently
joined the Oakcrest Guidance Team. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree
from the University of Delaware and a Masters Degree in Student Personnel
Services from Rowan University. Before coming to Oakcrest, Ms. Piechoski
taught Science to eighth grade students and helped coach both cheerleading
and swimming. She truly enjoys working with young people and is excited to
be working at the high school level. In her free time, Ms. Piechoski enjoys
spending time with her family, reading and traveling. |

Kim Raymond- Guidance Counselor
Mrs. Raymond has ten years of experience in education. After teaching writing
for one year at Glassboro Intermediate School and for four years at Buena
Regional High School, she worked as a Guidance Counselor for Absecon Schools.
Mrs. Raymond started her counseling tenure at Oakcrest High School in October
of 2001. A Penn State graduate with a degree in English, Mrs. Raymond also
attended Rowan University to receive her Master’s Degree in Student
Personnel Services. In addition to her career in education, Mrs. Raymond
has written for the Press of Atlantic City, the Haworth Society, and the
public relations agency, Writing Solutions. Recently, Mrs. Raymond also took
over the editing of the guidance newsletter, the Falcon Guide. A resident
of Mays Landing, Mrs. Raymond is married with two daughters. Mrs. Raymond
looks forward to working with her students and assisting them in reaching
their goals. |

Amy
Salcedo- Guidance Counselor
Mrs. Amy Salcedo has been employed at Oakcrest High School since 1995 and
is thrilled to be a member of the Oakcrest Guidance Team. She received her
Bachelor of Arts and Masters Degree from Rowan University. She holds certifications
in English, Speech Arts & Dramatics, and Student Personnel Services.
Mrs. Salcedo spent seven years teaching English, Drama, and Media at Oakcrest
and was recognized as the 2001 Oakcrest High School’s “Teacher
of the Year”. Mrs. Salcedo’s real passion is choreography and
enjoys working for the Ritz Theatre Company. Amy and her husband John enjoy
traveling, Chinese food, sports, and the theatre. However, they treasure
spending time with their son Justin, twin daughters, Ashley and Mia, and
yellow lab Jessie. |
