Oakcrest Ambassadors to Host “Dare to Dream” Marching Band Show

The Oakcrest High School Marching Ambassadors Band will be hosting the Second Annual “Dare to Dream” Invitational at Oakcrest High School football field on Sunday, September 24, 2006, at 1:30 pm.

The multi-high school band competition will have 10-12 bands from throughout the tri-state area in the event, with half of the proceeds going to the Dare to Dream Foundation, a non-profit group that seeks to provide children diagnosed with cancer and/or children affected by cancer, along with their immediate family members, with a vacation package to Disney World or other appropriate theme park. The Dare to Dream Foundation, Inc. was established in memory of Teresa Dare DuBois, who died of ovarian cancer at the age of 28, being survived by her husband and son.

The event, and all programs sponsored by the Cavalcade of Bands Association, Inc., provide students with a broad array of educational opportunities for the development of abilities in music and the performing arts. The Ambassadors, the 2005 Cavalcade of Bands First Place Champions, will present their 2006 Field Show, “O”. Tickets are $5.00 general admission and will be available at the gate.
