English Department
Cassandra (Cassie) Bunje- Cassie comes to Oakcrest
from Stockton having graduated summa cum laude in Literature and Education.
In late Spring, Cassie was
awarded the Commissioner’s Distinguished Teacher Candidate Award
by the state of New Jersey. Cassie spent the beginning of her “adult” years
in the business world, working in finance administration and insurance,
and hating it passionately. Thus, she considers herself a late-bloomer,
having finally discovered what she was born to do. As Jerry Garcia once
sang, “Once in a while you see the light in the strangest of places
if you look at it right.” Through thick and thin, Cassie is a rabid
Yankee fan. She loves the beach and all things associated with it: sun,
surf, sand and sunscreen. Cassie enjoys spending time with her husband,
her 4-year old Jack Russell terrier and her three cats.
