Ninety
Oakcrest High School students recently traveled to the Pennsylvania
Renaissance Faire in Mt. Hope, Pa. to experience the flavor of
Renaissance history. Students in English, Media and Drama classes
participated.
During
the trip, students visited shops, tasted food of the period, and
attended a variety of shows, including a jousting tournament, music
of Scotland, and Shakespearean plays. Students could also interact
with actors at the Faire who greeted students as if they were entering
a Renaissance village.
Dianne
Robbins, senior English teacher, organized the popular field trip
this year. “Every year we look forward to taking our students
to the Renaissance Faire,” she commented. “We study
the Renaissance extensively in senior English classes so taking
our students to Mt. Hope is beneficial and fun.”
