OHS STUDENTS CONNECT WITH SCIENCE CENTER

       Oakcrest High School students in Kevin Costello’s Health and Concepts of Fitness classes recently participated in a distance learning conference with the Louisville Science center. The event was arranged by Chris Monroe, OHS distance learning coordinator, in an effort to teach students the importance of physical activity as a part of a healthy lifestyle.

The program, titled Work It Out, was a great opportunity for students. “It was a fun and informative program for the students. It got them thinking of ways to increase their level of physical activity,” said Costello.

        Students who participated agreed.  “It was a really good program. A lot of people think of just weight training for muscle training. We had a chance today to experiment with different methods of muscle training that are easy to do,” commented Randy Thompson, senior.
