OHS
STUDENTS KEEP UP TO DATE
ON SCIENTIFIC ISSUES
Oakcrest High School health
classes recently connected with Hooks Discovery and Learning
in Indiana via the school’s distance learning lab to update
students on current events in health.
Students in Kevin Costello’s
classes enjoyed the chance to learn about cloning and stem cell
research. “I learned that stem cell research and cloning
is very important,” commented sophomore Jonathan Shute. “We
learned some things that scientists are currently doing to improve
our quality of life.”
“Through the program students
became familiarized with the various perspectives that exist on
the controversial topics of cloning and stem cell research,” explained
Costello.
