bOakcrest High School is currently planning a school-wide curricular commemoration program on May 26-28th in conjunction with the dedication of the World War II Memorial on May 29th in Washington DC. The entire school will work together with the community in hope to raise awareness of the sacrifices made by "The Greatest Generation."

*9:24-10:10: Senior Assembly in Auditorium,
OHS Choraliers: Music of World War II
*Noon: Public Relations Luncheon
*1:30-2:16: Sophomore Assembly in Auditorium,
Drama Presentation
*Sign up sheet in office for Dave Jungblut’s poetry reading during English classes

Thursday, May 27th
7:30-8:16: Freshmen Assembly in Auditorium, OHS Band: Music of World War II
8:20-1:26: Displays in Gray Gym
Static Weapons Display
Millville P-47 Air Show Display
Model Train Military Display
10:14-1:26: Soup Kitchen in Cafeteria

Friday, May 28th
8:30: Veterans Breakfast in
Faculty Cafeteria
8:34-10:59: Junior Assembly with Veterans sharing their experiences during World War II.
11:30: Veteran Luncheon in the library and courtyard

Special Notes
*The English Department will play relevant videos during the lunch periods on all three days.
*The Physical Education Department will run “Boot Camp” during gym classes on all three days.
*The Victory Garden can be visited during the lunch periods on all three days.
*A revised bell schedule will be distributed on Friday.
*The library will be closed on Friday during periods
5-8 for World War II activities.
*Ott Pacifico, a former P.O.W., will be speaking to health classes on Friday, May 28th.
*The Social Studies Department will display posters from the WWII Poster Contest
