CLOSING
CEREMONY |
FRIDAY,
MAY 26TH |
- All medal students and entertainment participants
will be called to the football field 12:50 – 2:35; the student
must have a blue Olympic pass.
- All Medal winners will be placed in a line to coincide with the reading
of the Winners names. There will be three people handing out the medals;
each standing in front of the gold, medal or silver rows.
- Student body called down 1:30
- Guest speaker – Mr. Larry James, 1968 Gold/Silver Medalist, (1:40,
5-8 minutes) inspirational speech.
- Dance (1:50-1:55, 5 minutes)
- Medals awarded (1:55-2:20) As the names are called the students will
quickly receive their medals and then move to make way for the next grouping
of winners.
- Drum line (2:20-2:25)
- Closing – (2:25-2:35) symbolic extinguishing of flame, dismissal
to buses
- Students will not be permitted back into the building, they will be
dismissed to the buses
CLOSING CEREMONY CONTINGENCY FOR INCLEMENT
WEATHER
- All medal students and entertainment will report to
the auditorium 12:50, the students must have a blue Olympic pass.
- Ices will be distributed for the participants enjoyment while we are
getting ready.
- All Medal winners will be given their medals at this time and will
be placed in order to coincide with the reading of the Winners names.
- Senior class will be called down to the auditorium at 1:30.
- Guest speaker – Mr. Larry James, 1968 Gold/Silver Medalist, (1:40,
5-8 minutes) inspirational speech.
- Dance (1:50-1:55, 5 minutes)
- Reading of the medal winners names (1:55-2:20)
- Drum line (2:20-2:25)
- Closing – (2:25-2:35) symbolic extinguishing of flame, dismissal
to buses
- *Note: While the closing ceremony is taking place in the auditorium
the juniors, sophomores and freshman students will be in their 12th period
class and continue with what regular teacher plans.
- In addition, there will be a parade of approximately 200 students marching
through the halls.
