Announcements

General announcements for the day will be made during homeroom period. Emergency announcements will be made only when absolutely necessary. Announcement forms can be obtained from the Student Office and must be signed by the teacher in charge of the activity.

Lateness to Class
Coming to class late falls within the general area of classroom discipline and responsibility and, therefore, is a concern of the classroom teacher as well as the department supervisor, and administration. Unexcused lateness to class causes unnecessary disturbances and tends to disrupt the teaching-learning process which the teacher has initiated at the beginning of the period. If the teacher is unable to correct student lateness, it should be referred to the department supervisor. It should be referred to the vice-principal only when theses interventions have failed to change unacceptable behavior.

Early Release from Class
No student should be released prior to the conclusion of a period unless some emergency creates an exception to this rule: e.g., accident, emergency from home, office request.

Cutting of Classes
The Cutting Policy of the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District may be found in the Student Guidebook.

Teachers should follow instructions as directed by the vice-principal's office:

Hall Supervision
Teachers are expected to supervise the area outside their rooms between periods and to keep traffic moving smoothly. This is most critical since teacher presence in the halls is usually adequate to prevent problems which may occur.

Excuses to Lockers
Students are not to be excused during a class period for anything other than an absolute emergency. If an emergency exists, the student should be issued a corridor pass.
