Attendance Procedures

It is important and legally mandated that an accurate attendance check is made by teachers. It is imperative that the greatest care be used in checking attendance. It is the Teacher's responsibility to take attendance personally. This task may not be delegated to a student under any circumstances. THE TEACHER WILL BE EXPECTED TO KEEP AN ACCURATE RECORD IN HIS OWN RECORD BOOK AS IS EXPECTED WITH CLASSES.

1. Homeroom sheets will go out but are only to be used in case of computer failure or a substitute teacher. Leave your attendance sheet where substitutes can find it in case of your absence.
2. Sheets will still be picked up in the hallways for the above reasons.
3. Only take attendance during homeroom period. Whether by computer or paper, all attendance is due in by 9:30am. The attendance atom in CLASSxp will be unavailable for updating by teachers after this time.
4. Do not mark a student absent if there is already an absent code in the box.
5. Any corrections to student attendance are to be written (no phone calls) and turned in to Phyllis Jones in the main office by 9:30am.
6. If you are experiencing a technological problem which prevents you from taking attendance with CLASSxp, report the problem through the Trouble Trakker service located at http://www.k12usa.com/. Attendance should then be taken on the blue weekly attendance sheet and submitted to Phyllis Jones in the Main Office by 9:30am.
