STUDENT EXPECTATIONS/DISCIPLINEReferralsWhenever a student is a continuous problem or has immediately become involved in a serious infraction, a referral should be made. A referral detailing the circumstances of the infraction should be turned in as soon as possible. Teachers should include those interventions that have been employed prior to the writing of the referral. Parent conferences are appropriate teacher interventions and should be considered prior to making office referrals. The Department Supervisor should receive all referrals, take counseling action with the student and turn in a copy of each referral to both teacher and appropriate vice-principal. A copy of each referral within a specific department should be kept on file by the Department Supervisor. The vice-principal will have a complete referral and additional discipline files on specific students.
