STUDENT EXPECTATIONS/DISCIPLINE

Philosophy

The teacher is the best disciplinarian in any given situation whether it be within the classroom, study hall, hallways, cafeteria, or anywhere a teacher may have the occasion to be. The effectiveness of our entire instructional program rests very heavily upon each individual faculty member exerting himself tireless in professionally handling all kinds of routine matters of discipline. Any breakdown of this philosophy will cause deterioration in the behavior patterns of many students. All cases of discipline, exclusive of office infractions, are counseling situations and should not be considered totally punitive. (Please refer to Faculty Referral Procedure, p. H-3 to H-4.)
