TELEPHONES

1. General Information

Telephones located throughout the building are for the use of the faculty in making the instructional program more effective. A directory is provided to facilitate your telephone service. It is suggested that you help keep it up to date. When transfers or other changes in personnel have occurred make corrections in your directory. Periodically new inserts, incorporating changes, will be released.

2. Telephone Courtesy

Personnel are expected to answer promptly and courteously. Each person should express by his tone and inflection of voice an evident desire to give friendly, helpful and satisfactory service. When placing calls, announce yourself to the person answering.

3. Answering

Unless your duties require special response, answer your telephone by giving your name or the name of your department, or both.

4. Covering Telephones

If you leave your office, make arrangements with someone to answer your telephone in your absence. Advise this person as to your whereabouts and whether calls should be referred during your absence.

5. Extension Numbers and Inter-District Calls

Your extension number is the same as the station number shown on your telephone. People calling within the school organization will dial that number.

6. Long Distance Calls

Persons making long distance calls should go through central switchboard.

7. In order to make an outside call, dial 9.

8. Calls After Close of School

Local calls may be made from any phone in the building. Please note that there are pay
phones available in the building.
