We are three weeks away from a bond referendum that could give our three schools $21 million in improvements with no increase to property tax rates. If you are not yet fully informed about this opportunity, please learn more before voting on Thursday, Oct. 6.
Start with a short video that covers the basics: VIDEO HERE

Register to participate in a Virtual Town Hall from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
The Virtual Town Hall will feature architects who will review proposed projects including improvements to athletic facilities (many of these will increase community access to our facilities); auditorium lighting for increased efficiency; new exterior doors for better security; and upgrades to improve accessibility and mobility around our campuses. Importantly, you’ll learn how GEHR can meet the goal of no tax increase.
Get the link for the Virtual Town Hall by registering at vote.gehrhsd.net. In addition to the live broadcast that evening, the event will be recorded for future viewing.
Anyone who is registered to vote in one of the GEHR communities (Egg Harbor City, Galloway Township, Hamilton Township or Mullica Township) can participate in the bond referendum. The vote is on a Thursday, which is unusual and prompted by a religious observance earlier in the week.
To vote by mail: Your application must be received by the county by Sept. 29 if you want a ballot mailed to you. Get your ballot postmarked by Oct. 6 or drop it in a designated box. Forms and drop-box locations are on the website.
To vote in person: Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6. Atlantic County planned fewer poll sites for this special election than the number typically used for larger-scale elections. The website includes a chart to help a voter determine which poll he or she is assigned to use for this special election.
This is a tremendous opportunity for Greater Egg students and our communities. This is no time for assumptions, so take the time to learn and make the time to vote.
