Adventures in Literature - Period 5A

Rm. 209

Adventures in Literature invites students to explore exciting stories through the genres of epic fantasy, survival, science fiction, dystopian fiction, and fantastical journeys. Through engaging novels and short stories such as The Hunger Games, The Maze Runner, and Harry Potter, students will encounter unforgettable characters, dangerous worlds, challenging quests, and societies that test the limits of the human spirit. Students will examine themes of courage, friendship, identity, survival, freedom, power, and the choices people make when faced with extraordinary challenges while exploring how authors create compelling worlds, develop characters, build suspense, and take readers on unforgettable journeys. Whether battling for survival, escaping a dangerous society, discovering a magical world, or embarking on an epic quest, students will discover that great literature can transport us anywhere, and that sometimes the greatest adventure is discovering something new about ourselves.
