Mr. Kurtz
Welcome! My name is Thomas Kurtz and I am the Wood Shop Instructor at Oakcrest High School. I am looking forward to the 2025-2026 school year and my third year of teaching here .
I am a third-generation journeyman carpenter with over 25 years of professional experience in commercial union carpentry and custom home building. In addition to recently earning my Municipal NJ Building Inspector License, I have a diverse background that includes time as a missionary, a shop steward, a school board member, and a city councilman. As a husband and father of six, I am dedicated to sharing my real-world knowledge and skills with the next generation of students in the wood shop.
Let's get to work!
