Parents who attended Oakcrest's recent Back to School Night were in for a treat, as many of the Nest's teachers prepared fun, hands-on activities to demo day-to-day life as a Falcon. Ms. Bock, OHS art teacher, had visiting guardians show off their artistic talents by making ink drawings! ✒️🎨💙
Last month, the Nest hosted one of its most important events, the biannual Athletic Wall of Fame Induction. Several alumni and current and former staff members were recognized for their athletic achievements, their coaching successes, their impact on the Mays Landing community, and their behind-the-scenes contributions to Oakcrest sports. The Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District has a new function on our app that many parents and students will find useful: Late Bus Notifications.
Beginning Monday, October 6th, 2025, anyone with the Greater Egg App downloaded on their mobile device will have the ability to receive push notifications about buses that are running late at any of our schools; Oakcrest, Absegami, and Cedar Creek High Schools.
To download the app, please click on the appropriate link for your Android or Apple devices. You may also visit the app store on your device and search for "Greater Egg Harbor Regional". Be sure to allow for push notifications in the settings and make sure to subscribe to the correct school under the app "Preferences". More than one school can be selected.

Oakcrest's Math Club, advised by teachers Leah McDonnell and Jason Brown, have teamed up with the First United Methodist Church of Mays Landing to help supply their community food bank. Earlier this week, dozens of Falcons worked together to make 159 PB&J sandwiches, which will be distributed to the homeless. 🥜🍇🍞🫶
Students from William Davies Middle School were recently invited to check out the Nest, where they learned all about Oakcrest's Biomedical Magnet Program by participating in a variety of games and activities. Shout-out to all the OHS staff and students who coordinated this fun and informative event...and to the visiting Future Falcons who made a great impression on their future teachers and classmates! 🩺🩻💙
Last week, Oakcrest science students and teachers paid a visit to Mays Landing landmark Winding River Campground, where they collected litter while canoeing the beautiful Great Egg Harbor River. Props to all the Falcons who helped to make this corner of Atlantic County a cleaner and greener space! 🛶💙🐢
Oakcrest High School would like to formally welcome HTPD Community IMPACT (Intervention, Mentorship, Prevention, and Community Trust) Officer Tasha Cannon to its campus. Officer Harris will be in all Hamilton Township schools on a regular basis working to build relationships with our area youth. Tasha is an Atlantic City High School graduate who played basketball at the high school, collegiate, and professional level, and she's extremely excited to make a difference in her new role! 💙👮♀️🏀
Oakcrest's chapter of the National Honor Society was out and about in Mays Landing last week volunteering at the Lake Lenape Boat Races. The group proudly repped the Nest by helping to direct traffic and manage crowds. Props to all the Falcons involved in making this important community event run smoothly!👏💙👏

Join us on Friday September 26th to support the accomplished former Falcon athletes who are being inducted into the Athletic Wall of Fame, just before kickoff of the Oakcrest vs. Absegami football game at 6pm. This year, 8 new members will join the long list of past inductees who have impacted the history of Oakcrest athletics, both in their time at The Nest and beyond.

On 9/25, the Oakcrest Biomedical and Digital Communications magnet programs were joined by athletics coaches and administrators at William Davies Middle School for their annual high school fair. Students in 8th grade had the opportunity to speak with students enrolled in both magnet programs, as well as advisors and coaches of athletics at Oakcrest. Oakcrest's REACH students were recently invited to check out the Nest's wood shop, where they received a great lesson on measurement and hand tools from teacher Tom Kurtz! 🔨🪚📏
On Friday, September 26th, Oakcrest will induct Dr. Richard Carlson into the Athletic Wall of Fame. An 11-time varsity letter winner in soccer, wrestling and baseball, he was captain of all three teams in 2004. In wrestling, he was a three-time District 32 Champion with a 103–22 career record. He earned Honorable Mention All-CAL in soccer and 2nd Team All-CAL in baseball. He was also recognized as a Varsity Academic Scholar. Dr. Carlson is the owner of Optimal Health Chiropractic and Physical Therapy in Egg Harbor Township, NJ and was a professional team chiropractor for the 2019 Atlantic City Blackjacks.
